The weight of influences and the influence of weight

This is art. Ok, art in the making.

I needed something heavy to hold down part of a project so that it would stick to another part.

The base where I could access a usable surface was small. So I built a tower.

The tower involved the tops of tin cans, a jar of Daniel Smith Stone Grey Gesso, an industrial expansion joint and a stack of art books.

It struck me before the tower (perhaps significantly) toppled and I had to find an alternate arrangement that for the moment, my influences were standing on my art rather than the other way around.
