My college drawing professor, Morton Sacks, once told me that soon after graduating, he painted a picture with a lot of yellow in it. He had been reading about color psychology and since people associate yellow with gold, it would inspire in them a desire to possess.

He did not say if it worked or not.

In 2000, years after he told me this story, I tried an all-gold cityscape.

It hangs in my parents' home back east.
